You know that moment at the end of a social event when you’ve had a great conversation with someone, and then comes the awkward dance of “so, can I get your number?
Match Code makes that moment disappear.
What is Match Code?
Match Code is a feature inside the free Jigsaw app that lets you connect with someone at an event without ever exchanging phone numbers or personal details. Each attendee has their own unique Match Code - a simple scannable code in the app. If you’d like to keep talking to someone after the event, you just scan their code (or they scan yours), and you’re matched.
No number. No last name. No social media handle. Just a mutual decision to stay in touch, made easy.

Why does this matter?
Two reasons: safety and comfort.
Safety: You're at an event with verified strangers. They're great people, but giving out your phone number is still a significant step. Match Code means you can express interest without handing over personal contact details until you're ready to.
Comfort: Asking for someone's number can feel high-stakes. Match Code takes the pressure off. It's a low-stakes, fun way to say 'I'd like to keep talking', and because both people have to scan each other for it to work, there's a built-in mutual consent element that makes the whole thing feel natural."
How it works, step by step
Open the Jigsaw app at the event
Find your Match Code in the app
When you meet someone you’d like to stay in touch with, scan their Match Code (or show yours to be scanned)
Once you’ve matched, you can continue the conversation through the app — on your terms, in your own time
The bigger picture
Match Code is part of how Jigsaw tries to make IRL connection feel as safe and easy as possible. Meeting people in person is already the braver choice — we don’t want anything else about the process to feel scary or complicated.
Real connections happen between real people. Match Code is just how we help those connections get started.
